Top Destinations and What Travellers Need to Know

Every destination comes with its own health risks. Here is a quick look at what travellers from Medway most commonly need before they fly.
// Vaccinations

Travel Vaccinations in Medway

We stock a full range of travel vaccines on-site. No waiting around for orders and no being sent elsewhere to complete your course.

Yellow Fever Vaccine

£75

A serious mosquito-borne virus in Africa and South America. We’re an accredited centre issuing certificates the same day.

Hepatitis A

£50 per dose

Protect against this common, food-and-water-borne infection. Our two-dose course gives strong, lasting protection, so you can travel without worrying about it.

Hepatitis B

£50 per dose
Essential for travellers planning longer stays or those needing medical care. This three-dose course offers reliable, long-term protection against blood-borne risks.

Typhoid

£50
A bacterial infection spread through contaminated food and water. We offer both injection and oral options, so you can pick what suits you.

Rabies

£85 per dose
A serious risk in over 150 countries. Our pre-exposure course creates a vital safety window if you are bitten or scratched while away.

Cholera

£45 per dose
Protect yourself from this water-borne risk, particularly in areas with poor sanitation. Our oral vaccine also helps guard against travellers’ diarrhoea.

Japanese Encephalitis

£110 per dose
Mosquito-spread virus common in rural Asia. Two doses provide vital protection, especially for those visiting agricultural or forested regions.

Men ACWY (Meningitis ACWY)

£50
Protects against four strains of meningitis. It is mandatory for Hajj and Umrah pilgrims and highly recommended for sub-Saharan travel.

Tick-Borne Encephalitis

£60 per dose
Prevent this brain infection spread by tick bites in forested European and Asian areas. Our two-dose course keeps you safe while exploring outdoors.

Chikungunya

£190

A mosquito-borne virus causing joint pain and fever. We offer modern vaccine options for adults and teenagers to keep you comfortable.

MMR (Measles, Mumps and Rubella)

£50 per dose

Recommended for unvaccinated adults or anyone who has not completed a two-dose course. Some patients may be eligible on the NHS, worth checking before booking privately.

DTP (Diphtheria, Tetanus, Polio)

£50
Immunity fades over time, so we recommend a booster every 10 years for higher-risk trips. This injection covers diphtheria, tetanus, and polio.
// Travel Medications

Travel Medications: Prescriptions and Tablets

Some destinations need more than vaccines. We prescribe a full range of travel medications in the same appointment. No separate GP visit required.

Antimalarials

£2.50 per tablet

Malaria is a serious risk in tropical regions. We prescribe effective options like Malarone, Doxycycline, and Lariam, matched to your destination and travel plans.

Altitude Sickness Tablets

£3 per tablet

Travelling above 2,500 metres? We prescribe Acetazolamide (Diamox) to help prevent altitude sickness. We’ll also guide you through safe acclimatisation during your quick appointment.

Jet Lag Medication

£1.50 per tablet

Melatonin 3mg for long-haul travellers who have experienced jet lag before. Taking it at the wrong time makes things worse, not better, your pharmacist will build a timing plan around your specific route.

Period Delay Tablets

£1 per tablet

Avoid the stress of your period during your trip. Norethisterone is a simple prescription tablet that safely delays your cycle. Start with a quick, easy appointment.

Whooping Cough Vaccine

£60 per dose
Private booster for adults, pregnant women, and anyone with a new baby arriving in the household. If someone close to you is too young to be vaccinated yet, this is how you protect them.

Travellers Diarrhoea Treatment

£2 per tablet
Standby antibiotic treatment for high-risk destinations. You only use it if you need it, but having a clear written plan and the right medication in your bag can make a serious difference when you are hours from medical care.
